Shepherding youth into
1. GOSPEL - CENTERED
Because through Christ's atoning sacrifice for our sins, we have received the gift of a new life and a new identity in Him. How can a new identity and a new life not change everything about who we are and what we do? This new identity must be our new center.
2. BIBLE - SATURATED
Because the Bible is God's breathed-out Word to us. It's the story of the gospel - a perfect creation that fell, and God's plan to restore and redeem us through a Serpent-Crusher (Gen. 3:15). From Genesis to Revelation, that Redeemer story unfolds. Our Creator wrote all this for us to know who He is and what He's doing in our world. That is why expository preaching is a priority for us.
3. GLORY - OBSESSED
[Definition of obsessed = "to preoccupy or fill the mind of someone continually and even intrusively."]
Because in the Bible and in the Gospel we learn quickly that worship is why we were made. Our chief end, our reason for existing, is to enjoy God’s glory and to make Him look as amazing as He already is to those around us who do not yet know or see.
4. MENTORSHIP - MINDED
The very reason we have a youth ministry is to shepherd our first three values into teens' lives through consistent interaction. 2 Timothy 2:2 describes passing on gospel truths to a few faithful stewards and guiding them to pass them on to even more, resulting in a never-ending chain of discipleship.
PUTTING IT ALL INTO PRACTICE: BALANCE IN OUR METHODS:
1) Programming: TEACHING VS. FUN - Focused, intentional Bible teaching time held in balance with relational fun and discipleship. Fun is not our top priority.
2) Generations: AGE-TARGETED VS. INTEGRATED - Age-targeted programming held in balance with inter-generational connections in the church.
3) Family Support: DEPENDENCE VS. INDEPENDENCE - Family strengthening and parental support held in balance with training towards independent thinking and self-initiated spiritual growth.
4) Environment: SAFE ZONE VS. LOVING RISK - A safe environment for spiritual growth held in balance with a heart to reach out in risk to love and win the lost.

CONNECTING THE GOSPEL OF GRACE
TO DAILY LIVING
We won't settle for a cultural Chrisianity. We are going above and beyond that to ask and answer the question "Just how practical and life-affecting is the gospel of grace?" through a book study of both 1 and 2 Corinthians.
"So, my dear brothers and sisters,
be strong and immovable.
Always work enthusiastically for the Lord,
for you know that nothing you do for the Lord
is ever useless." (1 Cor. 15:58, NLT)
