MEN'S MINISTRIES
We believe it is essential for every man to be intentional in his pursuit of a growing relationship with Christ. We encourage each man to prioritize that relationship knowing it has a ripple effect that impacts all other relationships (families, church, and the world). Therefore, we ask older men to look for ways to come alongside younger men to disciple them, to prepare them to teach others, and ultimately to perpetuate His memory through all generations, so that the nations will praise His name forever (see Psalm 45:17).
There are three principles at the heart of Men’s Ministry at Abingdon Bible that drive everything we do.
1) Discipleship - "We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me." (Colossians 1:28,29)
2) Duplication - "And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also." (2 Timothy 2:2)
3) Diversity - "Teach older men to be temperate, worthy of all respect, self controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance…similarly, encourage the younger men to be self controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness..." (Titus 2:2,6,7).
