LEADERSHIP IS HEART SERVICE
"...shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock."
(1 Peter 5:2-3 ESV).
OUR PASTORS
Jason Bakker
Senior Pastor
As senior pastor, Jason Bakker preaches on a regular basis,
constantly prays for our church body, offers pastoral care, and serves with
ABC’s other elders in leading and overseeing the ministry of the church as a whole.
Jason grew up in a Christian family in northwest Indiana and came to faith
in Christ around 5 years old. In high school he felt the Lord leading him to a helping
profession and during his time at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI studying social
work God made it clear that He was calling Jason to pastoral ministry. Jason switched
his course of study, earning a B.A. in sociology and took courses to prepare for further
ministry training. A couple years after college he began attending Dallas Theological
Seminary, where he earned a Master of Theology degree in pastoral leadership.
Jason served at Salem United Brethren Church in Chambersburg,
PA for 13 years prior to becoming Senior Pastor of ABC in July of 2020.
Dr. Paul Bufford
Associate Pastor
Pastor Paul has been Associate Pastor since October 2020 after serving
as Senior Pastor for 42 years. He assists the senior pastor in pastoral care
and the deacons in facility management, maintenance, and financial matters.
Paul grew up in Madison, GA in a large Christian family and trusted
Christ in early elementary school. At the age of 15, he committed his life to
full-time Christian service. His first full-time ministry was in 1971 as Youth
Director at Marrable Hill Chapel in El Dorado, Arkansas.
Paul is a graduate of Bob Jones University (B.A.), Dallas Theological Seminary
(Th.M.) and Reformed Theological Seminary (D.Min.). In addition to pastoral ministry,
he has served on the governing boards of several mission organizations. He has also
traveled overseas to visit missionaries, teach the pastors and lead trips to the holy land.

OUR STAFF
Scott Graham
Director of Family Discipleship
As Director of Family Discipleship at Abingdon Bible Church,
Scott oversees ministries to men, women, and students. He is also
responsible for Life groups and collective outreach efforts into our community.
Scott came to know Christ as Savior at the age of seven. With very little
discipleship, Scott struggled to grow and resisted submitting his life to God’s
leadership. It wasn’t until his early thirties that he fully yielded his life to Christ
as Lord after his pastor at the time invested deeply in his life.
Scott did not follow a typical educational path. He attended Baptist Bible College for
one year and then attended one semester of community college before entering the full
time workforce at a local steel mill. After nearly fifteen years at the mill, God led Scott
on journey in which living by faith, not by sight (2 Cor. 5:7) was a constant reality. God
used this to teach, refine, purify, and sanctify their lives. This journey included having
three premature babies, more than four years of serving in his local church as Youth
Director and Custodian, two years as Spiritual Life Coordinator at a Christian School,
and a move to Indiana to be houseparents at a children’s home. Over the next ten
years Scott ended up having eight different jobs. Through these years, God developed
his family’s faith and taught them how to be dependent on God. Scott believes all
these experiences and environments have uniquely shaped him specifically
for the role he now serves with Abingdon Bible Church.

Kevin Burrill
Director of Music and Media
Kevin serves in a part-time capacity as ABC’s Director of Music and Media.
Each week he uses much discernment to select God-glorifying music and scriptures
for the Sunday morning worship service. He also conducts worship team rehearsals.
In addition to these responsibilities, Kevin oversees the audio-visual and media ministries.
Kevin was saved in 1989, when he was six years old. What had been a familiar, comfortable
gospel message became a strong sense of personal need for Christ. He prayed to confess
his sins and acknowledge Christ as his Savior and Lord. Kevin is passionate about learning the
depths and riches of this salvation and anchoring his life in gospel truth. He is passionate about
teaching and influencing others towards a thirst for these rich, deep truths. Kevin holds a
bachelor's degree in Sacred Music from Northland International University, Dunbar, WI.
Kisha O'Quinn
Office Manager
Kisha manages all office concerns that pertain to day to day operations of the
church as well as preparation for the upcoming services and events. She was originally
hired as Secretary and transitioned to the role of Office Manager, taking on additional
financial responsibilities. Kisha has an Administrative Assistant Associates degree from VHCC.
Kisha grew up attending church with her family and was raised in a Christian home.
But she didn’t come to know Christ personally and receive salvation until
shortly after the birth of her son. She realized that the things she desired for him
spiritually as he grew up, she also needed for herself. Kisha feels very blessed
for the time she has been here. Although she’s never regularly attended ABC,
she’s always said that she feels like she has two church families.
